File transfer

• Simple file transfer with xmodem.
  • HP49G: 'FNAME' Enter XRECV Enter
  • Linux: sx HP49HELP.LIB < /dev/ttyS1 > /dev/ttyS1
• Server mode
  • HP49G: Set the calculator to server mode pressing "right shift" and "right arrow"

Example: installing a library with kermit

• Download help_v11.zip from hpcalc.org and unzip it: unzip help_v11.zip
• HP: +
• Linux:

     set port /dev/ttyS1
     set carrier-watch off
     robust
     send HP49HELP.LIB
     finish
  

•  HP: VAR HP49.. Enter
         1 STO
         1757 ATTACH
  

• purge the variable (using filer)
• Enter the LIB menu (right-shift 2): "HELP" and "ABOUT" should be there

ROM Update

• Use upgrade program by M. Bunte available at hpcalc.org.

  press "ON" and "D" to get the tests-menu,
  press "+" and "ENTER", hold them and press "ON" to get the no-system-menu,
  press "4" to enter terminal mode,
  now press "RETURN" on the computer to continue this program...
