Beowulf Server Installation -- Cyclom Y card

• install the drivers during kernel recompilation (...to add kernel config file here...)
• after rebooting with the new kernel load the module:

          # modprobe cyclades
  

  and make the necesary dev files:

          # cd /dev
          # ./MAKEDEV cyclades
  

• (reboot now ??) (load module in startup: add to file /etc/rc.d/rc.local one line: modprobe cyclades )
• check that the multiport card works. I do it with minicom:

          # minicom -s
  

  in "Serial port setup" change "Serial Device" to "/dev/ttyC0" than choose "Exit". Now if you press some key you don't see echo. This is ok. Plug in port 1 of the Cyclades board the loopback connector. Now if you see a echo of the pressed key this means that (at least :) the first port works. You can repeat this with other ports.
